3 local actresses and Costamed Specialists will be the hosts of this evening, who will take us by the hand through an intense journey about the vagina, so that we can normalize it, thus breaking taboos and allowing us to prevent the spread of Cervical Cancer, considering the three key points that are:

  1. Prevention
  2. Detection
  3. Treatment

Ruth Lopez Marin

Born in Mexico City in 1973, she migrated at the age of 6 to Guadalajara, where she has lived most of her life.

Mother of 4 children and grandmother of 4 grandchildren.

She arrived in Cozumel 4 years ago, to participate in a family business. Her versatile work-life includes diverse professions such as Kitchen Assistant in industrial dining rooms, promoter in convenience stores of different products, secretary, and manager of a record store.

As an entrepreneur, she runs a cleaning service business by the hour.

Her hobbies are music and, before the pandemic, athletics, where she participated in some recreational competitions in Cozumel and Riviera Maya.

With all her richness and life experience, she joins the incredible cast of "The Vagina Chronicles" under the direction of Daniela Larragoiti and the supervision of Andrick de Anda.

Esmeralda Balam Hau

Born in Cozumel, Quintana Roo, she is 21 years old and is currently in her last semester of Marketing and Business at the University of Quinta Roo.

From an early age she showed preference and great gifts in the artistic world, she has grown under the direction of Oscar Ibarra, Manuel Alcocer, Karely Zapata, Carlos Larrea, Esther Arevalo, Alex Jordany, and Ramiro Ancona, who have been great promoters for the different disciplines she performs.

Her acting career has developed within the companies "Mosca Morada Teatro" and "M+M Productions", learning and growing in this profession that she is so passionate about.

She has participated in at least 20 plays, to mention a few:

  • The Grinch
  • The adventures of Doña Legalí and Don Me Vale
  • La llorona
  • An angel in trouble

She currently participates as Lulu and Ana Maria in "TOC-TOC" within the company "M+M Productions", in addition to participating in the "CVagina Chronicles". 

She also performs in the beautiful discipline of dance at the "Cozumel Center for Artistic Formation" in charge of Alex Jordany and Luis Siller, who have allowed her to participate in competitions outside the island of Cozumel, where she has won first, second and third places in her various events.

Georgina Ortega Vera Kentzler

Proudly born on the island of Cozumel, 23 years ago she was born in the beautiful Mexican Caribbean.

She is a student of Textile and Fashion Design and is currently in her 8th semester at the University of Monterrey.

Her beginnings in theater were in 2009 as a school theater with the teacher Bertha Alicia Gutierrez, and for 4 years she participated in several plays, including the musical Peter Pan being John, a pirate and an Indian, and 1 year of theater in Dublin, Ireland where she presented the musical Greese in which she was part of the dance group and choir. 

She left the theater for 8 years and focused on sports and just this year she returned to the world of performing arts, participating as Lulu in the play "TOC TOC" with the company "M+M Productions " and at the same time participating in "The Vagina Chronicles".

During her time as an athlete, she has participated in several competitions, Olympics, Sprint, and Olympic distance triathlons in Mexico and Cuba. She has won several 21 km races in Monterrey, Merida, and Texas. Currently she does not give up this passion and is a regular participant of Ironman 70.3 distance, of which she has completed 7, with some first and second places as well as top 5. 

She went to the world championship of this event in Samorin, Slovakia in 2021, finishing 6th in her category. As for foot races, she is focused on the Marathon (42.195k) which has 2 official ones, the first in the Cozumel Marathon being in 2nd place overall and the second in the California International Marathon taking 5th place in its category and being the first Mexican woman to cross the finish line.

As for her life as a designer, she took advantage of the challenge of the pandemic and launched her brand GK, with a line of woven beachwear and had them for sale online and in the Concept Store in Cozumel.

Daniela Larragoiti

A native of Mexico City, Daniela Larragoiti has an important trajectory in medical and artistic areas, fulfilling both passions.

She graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico with a degree in Physiotherapy and has a Master's degree in Special Education, as well as a diploma in Art Therapy.

As a Physiotherapist, she has worked in different hospitals in Mexico City, among which are distinguished:

  • Federico Gomez Children's Hospital of Mexico.
  • National Institute of Pediatrics
  • Children's Rehabilitation Center (C.R.I.) of SEDENA.

Daniela has an extensive career of 12 years in the artistic field, starting as an actress, entertainer, and playwright of children's events. Later, she ventured into musical theater and intimate theater in Rafael Solana and Foro CAT venues. 

Within her preparation she has had training in public speaking, literary creation, singing and acting in various academies such as the  Center for Dramatic Arts CADAC (for its acronym in Spanish), Escorpio Montagge, Academy of Dramatic Arts ADAD (for its acronym in Spanish); and workshops taught by teachers such as Aarón Vázquez, Armando Mora and Claudia Arellano.

Her great love for children has also led her to support the acting training of children from 6 to 13 years old at Foro Studio 33. She has participated in plays such as:

  • Bloody Mary
  • The adventures of a sack
  • Trees die standing up

Currently, she combines her two passions and participates actively and successfully in Costamed Grupo Médico in its Rehabilitation Center and in "M+M Productions".

Andrick de Anda

Director

Mexican Actor and Singer.

He has participated in plays of different theatrical genres such as Romeo and Juliet directed by Raul Corona, Teatro del Absurdo with Delirio a Dúo by Eugene Ionesco, Micro - theater under the direction of Julio Martell, Monologues with Sueños Etéreos, and different musical plays among which stand out:

  • The Hunchback of Notre Dame
  • The Little Prince
  • Aladdin
  • A Spectacular Musical
  • Peter Pan 

Among others.

He has also participated in several independent projects on behalf of the Mexican Association of Film Projects and the Center for Film Studies and Training. He is the founder and current director of the Academy of Dramatic Arts (ADAD).
