Cozumel is the third largest island in Mexico and the second with most inhabitants. It belongs to the State of Quintana Roo and is located crossing the Caribbean Sea from Playa del Carmen in the mainland.
Its pristine and crystal-clear waters, its coral reef system close to 22 kilometers long, its vast marine life and white sand typical of the Caribbean makes it an idyllic destination for those who love diving and the sea, placing Cozumel as an international destination for cruise ship arrivals. But beyond that you will find the warmth of its people, delicious food and ancestral traditions such as its Carnival. This and more make Cozumel a destination to fall in love with.
This is where Costamed was born in 1998 as Centro Medico de Cozumel, and since then we reaffirm every day our commitment to provide top quality medical care both to residents as well as to national and international tourists that visit Cozumel daily.
Costamed Cozumel Hospital is at the medical forefront; evidence of this is that on May 2019 Costamed was endorsed by the most important international authority on patient’s health and safety services accreditation as 1 of 8 hospitals with this certification in the country, adding this accreditation to the one previously acquired from the General health Board, currently in re-certification phase.
Likewise, since 2017 Costamed Cozumel Hospital holds the Certification from the Canadian Healthcare Council and the Mexican Council on Medical Tourism. We also have the title of physical examiners from the Norwegian Navy.
